Don't they know what black people look like?

Why are the people on the tin for Murray's Superior Hair Dressing Pomade conspicuously pale?  Remember that episode of Gimme a Break! when Joey Lawrence (whoa!) got in trouble for donning the black-face?  This is, I guess, the graphic design opposite.

SHUT UP!  I just did a Google search for the product so I could link to it, and I discovered that there is a motherfucking special edition Obama tin.  (They call them "cans," but everyone knows they're "tins.")  If you think I'm kidding...don't.
